1. Nico Beyer
Renowned German director Nico Beyer is known for his forward-thinking directing style. His willingness to experiment with new technologies, plus his ability to work with casts and, er, vehicles alike onset, led Armoury to describe him as "[getting] incredible performances out of cars, people and even tachometers."
For instance, Beyer's work on commercials for Audi's Q range shows off his personal visual style, blending technical skill with strong human performances to create an attention-grabbing piece of work.
Such work led Armoury producer Matt Hichens to say: "It's great to have Nico on board for representation. Having someone with his wealth of knowledge, experience and cinematic style is always an exciting addition. Wellkomen, Nico!"
2. Jim Field Smith
Jim Field Smith was once a member of the sketch troupe and Edinburgh Fringe regulars Dutch Elm Conservatoire... so it's probably no surprise that directing comedy became his forte upon stepping behind the camera.
Despite claiming he never saw himself becoming a director, Field Smith has a more than healthy reel and has directed numerous episodes of television series for broadcasters including the BBC, Hulu, and Showtime. His series of ads for the 2017 Grammy Awards, starring James Corden, show off Field Smith's deadpan sensibility.
Meanwhile, Armoury's second new signing has Matt Hichens doubly pleased: "[We're] really excited to have Jim on board. He's an amazing addition to the team and brings his own comedic style and humour which we've admired and enjoyed long before he joined Armoury."
