HUMANS ARRIVE AT RIFF RAFF FILMS.

Directing duo Humans have joined the Nursery of Evil at Riff Raff Films. Humans are Thom Whitaker and Danielle Outhwaite-Noël, former creative directors at Mother and the team behind many of IKEA's standout commercials in the UK (though, given Mother's weird reluctance to provide credits... anyone could lay claim to anything that comes out of the agency so we'll just have to take their word for it).

Whitaker and Outhwaite-Noël's transformation into Humans began in late 2019, when they directed the promo for grime star D Double E's Fresh N Clean. It was made through Riff Riff, as it happens, where owner Matthew Fone encouraged the duo to follow their new path with confidence. It's a well worn path too, as he's helped guided a number of top top directors down it, including Juan Cabral and Dougal Wilson.



Appropriately, Matthew Fone says: "I have a lot of experience helping creatives become directors, and part of that is taking an objective look at their ideas, how they are on set, and their interaction with both the crew and whoever is paying for the job."

"Anyone who knows Danni and Thom will know how good they are with people," Fone adds, "but what they are about to find out is how good they are as directors. Watch the music videos we have been doing together, and then send some scripts over. R/GA and Cash App in the US did!"



Now they've made their union with Riff Raff official, what do Humans admire most about their new home? "We love Riff Raff because they're all about ideas. No wait, craft, with ideas. And craft. OK, it's all about both. Which is exactly how we like to approach things too. We couldn't be more excited to be joining them!"
