THREE OF THE BEST FOR BLINKINK.
22 September 2017

Blinkink have added three directors to their burgeoning roster: Rune Spaans, Michael Marczewski, and Alex Grigg.

Spaans and Grigg hail from Norway and Australia respectively, while Marczewski is a homegrown talent. Together, they bring technical and artistic flair to Blink's animation wing. Let's learn a little more about the trio…

1. Rune Spaans

Rune Spaans a.k.a. Superrune advocates high-end CG. As well as possessing a strong commercial reel, he pursues story-driven work whenever possible.

This Faith No More promo (based on his short film ‘The Absence of Eddy Table') demonstrates Spaans's knack for tactile environments and oddball scenarios.

2. Michael Marczewski

Those wary of technology's influence on our everyday lives will appreciate Michael Marczewski's reel. Beneath refined animation and chilled beats lies a darkly comic sensibility.

His 2014 film ‘Bad Vibes' features homicidal blenders and disobedient fridges, while MarczewskI's latest shows routine isn't always a good thing - even for robots.

3. Alex Grigg

Last but not least, Alex Grigg has established himself as one of Australia's foremost animators. He's always keen to discuss his craft while encouraging others to pursue their animation goals.

Blinkink were drawn to Grigg's enthusiasm, as well as this sombre exploration of the recovery process.

Grigg, Marczewski, and Spaans each bring something new to Blinkink's table. This triple signing also underlines the studio's commitment to securing talent both at home and abroad.
