NO.8 SCRAMBLES INTO EXISTENCE.
3 June 2019

An increase in the scope of services at Scramble has been signalled by a change of name, as the company becomes known as No.8 in honour of their impressive building in Portland Mews.

Jim Allen, the former managing director at Big Buoy, and Barny Wright, Scramble Soho's managing director and former head of production at Big Buoy are the key figures behind this move which represents a significant statement of the company's growing ambition.

By providing services across the full gamut of post-production including editing, audio, music, colour grading, VFX, animation and CGI, No.8 aims to offer a single point of contact regardless of the client's requirements.

Allen and Wright are joined by Tracey Gascoyne, the former head of production at Wave and Pure, as well as producer Charlotte Shearsmith and flame artist Antonio Jimenez - both ex-Big Buoy.

Barny Wright says: "We surround each project with the very best discipline leads across visual post, sound design and animation – all aligned to a common creative goal. We provide a single production team across all aspects of sound and vision, to make sure everything is continuously aligned to create beautiful work, every time, on time, and on budget."

Partnerships with other specialist boutique companies, including colour specialists Cheat and CGI Studio Digital Golem have further enhanced No.8's offer. Cheat's Toby Tomkins says: "Cheat is excited to be teaming up with No.8 to provide colour grading services and share our brilliant roster of colourists. We are delighted to work alongside their creative team and make work that is beautiful, captivating and powerful."
