SYE ALLEN ENTERS KODE MODE.
7 September 2023

Kode's good-natured tilt at world domination continues with the signing of director Sye Allen. The company have intrigued Allen for some time, so when executive producer Jack Goodwin got in touch, the Somerset native knew where his future lay.

Allen says: "It's beyond impressive to see how quickly KODE have cemented themselves with a seat at the table, curating a wonderfully diverse roster of incredible talent, of which I'm now proud to be a part of. The creative energy across narrative, music videos and commercials is palpable, and their drive and belief in their directors is second to none."

The director also appreciates how KODE's values align with his own: "I put so much love into my films and ultimately hope to make people smile, but also desire to push further—turning the humour dial a little darker or pulling silliness and sentimentality a little closer together. As well as having the perfect team, KODE has just the right collaborative and open culture to make this happen."

It's now also clear to us that Sye wants to take things up another gear.

 ”

He praises Goodwin, Alex Harman, and Dan Mellerman's "insatiable desire to create great work," and says he's "thrilled to now be doing this alongside them". Before they all get stuck into Allen's KODE debut, Goodwin looks back on a busy period for the company and looks forward to more of the same.

"We're incredibly excited to welcome Sye to KODE. Over the last few years it's been evident watching from afar how much Sye cares about craft and humour, and from our recent conversations it's now also clear to us that he wants to take things up another gear.

"People have been very kind to recognise KODE as a major player recently, but our hunger remains. This feels like the perfect time for us to partner up with Sye, in a moment which is fueled by that hunger to become the very best."
