DAVID DEARLOVE MAJORS IN ARTS & SCIENCES
12 April 2024

David Dearlove is an intriguing addition to the roster at Arts & Sciences... he's brimming with potential and clearly has a lot of fascinating projects ahead of him.

James Bland, London -based EP and Partner of Arts & Sciences sums up their new signing with customary precision: "David has a singular voice and an irreplicable eye for unique, quality filmmaking. We’re very excited to have someone on board who’s worked on the other side of the advertising relationship and look forward to seeing what comes next for him. He’s only getting started, and we’re lucky to have him on our roster."

This 2021 project for the Kiyan Prince Foundation was a labour of love for David Dearlove, and he spent two years bringing it to fruition, first as a creative and then as a director. The resulting film takes a strikingly defiant stand, with Kiyan Prince's father speaking with real heart about the man his son would have become if his life hadn't been taken cruelly from him.

There's a very different defiance exhibited by the protagonist in this Fleabag-inspired film for Breast Cancer Now which David Dearlove directed in 2022. It acknowledges the difficulty of absorbing news of a cancer diagnosis, and the awkward conversations and other interactions faced by those going through the ordeal.

Dearlobve's use of humour to explore this subject amplifies the poignancy at the end when the woman at its centre reveals her true feelings.

David Dearlove is very pleased to have arrived at his new base: "I’ve long been a fan of the work Arts & Sciences puts out... my roster-mates are amazing... as I continue to evolve my career as a director, I’m thankful to be guided by expert producers with such great taste."
