BORED ON THE 4TH OF JULY? COME TO CRAFTWORKS!
28 June 2018

On the evening of July 4th, we're putting together the last CraftWorks before the summer break. It'll have a distinctly post-Cannes feel with contributions from winners of two of last week's key events... neither, we're glad to report, anything to do with Cannes Lions itself.

Doors open at 18.00 with a 18.30 start for the event itself and it's at the LSE, 1 Sheffield Street, WC2 on 4th July.

No way am I missing the football to go to CraftWorks! Fear not! There's no football that day. It's safely in the lull before the quarter-finals.

All right then...who's on? Nexus's Smith & Foulkes will be talking about their recent film for Wimbledon as well as taking a look back a few of their greatest hits... including Honda 'Grrr' which picked up the film Grand Prix at Cannes in 2005.

Ooo... fab. What else? Irish director Vincent Lambe - who stunned the YDAs with his astonishing film about the Jamie Bulger murder - will be flying over from Dublin to talk about the impact of his hard hitting film... and the difference that winning the award at Cannes has already made to his prospects.

And Jim Archer of MindsEye - who also won Gold at the YDAs - will talk about his poignant dark comedy 'Brian & Charles'.

Any other competition winners? Funny you should ask! In its nineteenth year, Straight 8 held its third industry shootout at this year's Cannes and we'll be showing the film that won and talking to the people who made it.

Who won? Come and find out!

That's more than enough. You'd think. But we're also going to be doing a bit called 'Strictly... World Cup' which will be a wry analysis of the work made specially for this year's tournament (which England are clearly going to win after destroying the footballing giants of Tunisia and Panama).

And all this costs just £20? It does if you or your company are a full DAVID REVIEWS member. Limited members can get in for £25 each while weirdos who don't have a subscription pay £50. Click here for details and to buy tickets.
