AMANDA BLUE JOINS SKUNK FOR TRANS-ATLANTIC REPRESENTATION.
10 July 2018

Director Amanda Blue - who is soon to be the subject of a David Reviews podcast - has joined SKUNK's roster on both sides of the Atlantic.

When unveiling new directors, we've come to expect film production companies to reach for the superlatives but in this case, we can confirm them all... Amanda possesses an intelligent energy that's as engaging as it is impressive, and her track record suggest an extraordinary ability to bring a real dividend to every project.

The Sydney-born director moved to London to complete a Master's degree where she came across features director Mike Figgis. He mentored her and she became his producer on a number of documentary projects.

She became a documentary maker in her own right and quickly began gathering plaudits for her work. This attracted the attention of the advertising world and she was invited to start directing TVCs and other advertiser-funded content.

Amanda is just brilliant in every way. Her documentary work is fascinating... she’s a whirlwind of energy, empathy and passion and I just love having her around.

 ”

Her gift for telling compelling human stories was a great fit for the industry as it turned to authenticity to engage viewers but Amanda Blue also brings a keen aesthetic eye to her directorial projects and consistently delivers the best of both worlds.

Blue is already working on her first SKUNK project - a Financial Conduct Association film for M&C Saatchi - as well as a documentary-style piece for Brothers & Sisters.

SKUNK London MD Kate Taylor: "Amanda is just brilliant in every way. Her documentary work is fascinating... she's a whirlwind of energy, empathy and passion and I just love having her around."

Meanwhile, her parallel career in drama documentary is also flourishing... her latest film 'Deep Water' is picking up plaudits aplenty. These include the Betty Roland Prize for Scriptwriting at the 2018 NSW Premier's Literary Awards, an honour she and writer Jacob Hickey shared with Jane Campion for her series 'Top of the Lake' when the two projects were jointly declared winners of this prestigious prize.

The DAVID REVIEWS podcast with Amanda Blue will be published soon and you'll be able to learn a lot more about her... in the meantime, get in touch with Kate Taylor or Jo Rudolphy on 020 3176 7720 or via email at kate@skunklondon.com or jo@skunklondon.com.
