BERTIL VORRE GETS A HOBBY
2 October 2023

Hobby has signed Danish director Bertil Vorre to their US and Benelux roster.

Vorre developed his distinctive eye for detail while growing up in the Stevns region, which inspired him to seek out the quirky and unusual in the world around him. He strives to create something new in seemingly mundane environments - an attitude which makes him highly valuable to brands who wish to stand out from the crowd.

With his work described as surreal, odd, and renowned for a sharp sense of humour, he makes a witty addition to the Hobby stable. As founder Oskar Bĺrd said of the signing: "Bertil's work is like strange, weird, beautiful music that I can't get out of my head - and don’t want to. I'm very excited he's bringing his unique comic voice to the Hobby chorus."

 ”

Some standout spots from Vorre's reel invite viewers to explore his funny, heightened universes - such as a commercial for EPOS in which an alien's bright blue head inflates with screechy entitlement. His quirky spot for UNICEF - which touches on the fact humans are closer to our animal cousins than we might think - is also a great watch.

Thrilled to join the Hobby crew, Vorre commented: "I'm really excited about joining the Hobby family! As a director, I absolutely love working with mixed media, animation, and diving into VFX, often with a good dose of comedy - something that I know Hobby is really skilled at."
