Johnny Foreigner believe Oleksii 'Alex' Sobolev can flourish in the UK after the Ukranian director and his family fled their home in Kyiv. Now based in London, the former agency man is on a mission.

"We didn't have much time to plan our move and getting my career moving quickly here is important," Sobolev says. "Olivia Hirschberg and Karen James are a great team and I love their enthusiasm for my work and energy to open doors with the kind of brands and filmmakers who are right for me."



James has already watched Sobolev's underwater short film Breathless multiple times, and reckons prospective clients will do the same: "Breathless has got to be one of the most beautiful shorts I've ever set eyes on. I can't wait to share it with our network."

And what does Olivia Hirschberg have to say about her new man? "When Alex got in touch with us it was a no-brainer. He's an incredible talent whose career and livelihood have been forced to relocate. We are lucky to have him on board and excited to help him build his reel over here."
