French directing trio Bleu Désert have signed with Friend London for commercials and promos. Danny Herman's talent search brought him to Paris where he met Lucien Beucher, Jean Lanteri, and Gabin Rack—three men eager to prove themselves across the Channel.
Herman, Friend London's head of music videos, says: "We're incredibly excited to welcome Bleu Désert to the team. We've been following them for a while and believe them to be one of the freshest, most exciting new talents around." They're the latest to join in 2022 after Paul Herrmann and Anuk Rohde.
So what persuaded Friend to sign Monsieurs Beucher, Lanteri, and Rack? "Their marriage of poetic, hard-hitting imagery combined with their multifaceted talents in every film medium possible demonstrates a long and fruitful career," Herman says, "and we can't wait to get to work".
In the meantime, check out this gnarly piece of work for French rapper Kekra. Fans of self-surgery scenes (Blue Ruin, The Terminator, No Country for Old Men, et al.) will appreciate the opening cut, while an orange haze that evokes Blade Runner 2049 further underlines the trio's film literacy.
