IT'S DAVID GESSLBAUER AT THE QUARRY.
21 June 2022

When The Quarry's Ben Campbell met editor David Gesslbauer for the first time, he said it was like "being hit in the face with a big, juicy, tasty Germanic fish. A fish that can also make films better using a computer and his big brain." Now Gesslbauer is The Quarry's catch of the day.

Born in Switzerland and raised in Austria, musician-turned-editor Gesslbauer graduated from the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg and locked himself in the cutting room. Many commercials, music videos, and short films later, he's ready to show the UK arena what he's capable of.

"I've always loved the fantastic work coming from the UK and I'm thrilled that The Quarry opens that door for me," Gesslbauer says. "By joining a roster of editors that I admire, I can't wait to bring my craft to the next level."

David has an incredible reputation for putting out bold, challenging and thought-provoking work.

 ”

Among his admirers is co-owner and founder Paul Watts, who says: "Occasionally someone pops up on your radar that gets you excited. When we met with David to discuss the opportunity of representing him it became clear that his ambition and enthusiasm matched the calibre of his work. The breadth of his experience across commercial work, music videos and longer form projects is astonishing."

Suffice to say, managing director Toby Abbott shares this sentiment: "We're thrilled to represent David here in the UK. David has an incredible reputation for putting out bold, challenging and thought-provoking work, and I'm very excited to see where our partnership will take us."
