Italian filmmaker Jari Imbesi is the latest addition to Bang TV's enterprising roster.
Rare is the director with a degree in economics, but Imbesi prefers to focus on commercials these days. That suits Bang TV executive producer Jeremy McWilliams down to the ground, and he's ready to unleash Imbesi on the UK market.
"We liked his work from the very start," McWilliams says, "but his whole reel started to make sense once we’d met him. "He has a kinetic, pulsing energy that's hugely infectious," which bodes well for clients who need a bold operator on-set.
Meanwhile, producer Tom Whitehead says Imbesi passes a crucial test: "We often ask ourselves, 'Could we spend days in the back of a minibus on foreign location with this director?' With this guy the answer is most definitely yes. Like all good footballers, he makes it look easy."
Asif Kapadia, director of 'Senna', 'Amy', and 'Diego Maradona', changes tack with 'Creature', a film based on the English National Ballet production of the same name.
Jinx Godfrey, whose credits include 'Chernobyl', 'The Princess', and 'The Theory of Everything', is available for commercials again at Marshall Street Editors.
