DAN DE WINTER IS AT WORK
7 September 2020

Work have appointed New York-based editor Dan de Winter to their global roster.

Originally from Amsterdam, de Winter studied motion graphics and cinematography in San Francisco and remained in the US to hone his craft.

He subsequently spent three years as an assistant editor, sharpening his skills and acquiring the deft touch that makes Work so excited to have him on board.

Having made the leap to editor in 2013, De Winter takes an artistic view of his craft and is determined to bring the soul of each project to the fore: "Editing really is the part of the process I was most drawn to, bringing a story to life with whatever footage you have. The building blocks are all in front of you - it's a matter of digging till you find that hidden gem".

Dan is a truly wonderful editor with exactly the same mindset as us at Work, it feels great to find another kindred spirit.

 ”

He's also appreciates the diversity of the projects on offer in the advertising industry, giving him a steady stream of new and exciting campaigns to work om: "The amount of great individual projects is just fantastic, each offering up so many different challenges and working together with directors and creatives to the final part of the journey."

Work's founding partner Jane Dilworth acknowledges that while the current global situation means his job looks a little different at present, it hasn't put a damper on how thrilled they are to have him on board.

"Dan is a truly wonderful editor with exactly the same mindset as us at Work, and it feels great to find another kindred spirit. Dan couldn’t have joined at a wonkier time but even so he’s already working away, it's great!"
