HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD BY CONTRIBUTING TO THIS SURVEY OF PRODUCERS.
19 August 2020

There is already some fascinating feedback within the replies submitted in response to a survey set up by Presence's Danny Fleet, but to make it a really meaningful exercise, it's important that as many people as possible take part.

That's why Danny is urging producers from all parts of advertising to elbow aside twenty minutes to provide answers to the survey. Your anonymity is guaranteed so you can let loose with complete candour.

DAVID REVIEWS will then be helping Danny to compile and publish a report based on the answers which are provided. So please jump on it... and get your voice heard.

The picture emerging from the replies we've received so far is one of disillusionment with the increasing demands of an industry that has lost its way. As we all know, everyone is being asked to do more for less reward than ever before, but - from some of the replies - it's clear that many are reaching breaking point.

Clients expectations are not being managed as effectively as they used to be.

 ”

Clients are often in the firing line but there's also a recognition that the demands of scrapping over every penny has led to undercutting and a willingness to produce work on a loss-making basis.

We say yes too often when we should reconsider.

 ”

Some have had to re-evaluate their whole approach to the industry... becoming freelancers or moving to a different part of the industry where income is more secure, even though it means departing wildly from where they hoped to be.

Pitching is so erratic that it becomes more of a hobby than a job.

 ”

The pandemic has made working in the advertising industry more challenging than ever. We all know that the next year is likely to be seriously tough, and that makes it all the more important that we share intelligence about the best approach to take.

So please make time for this survey... you never know, you might find it cathartic to let us know what's really going on behind your bonhomie.
