From Toth to tax.
Adrien Brody is a serious man. Too serious to promote TurboTax? The Super Bowl staple thinks not, but when the star of veritable laugh riots 'The Pianist' and 'The Brutalist' arrives on set, all hopes of a happy-go-lucky commercial go out the window. As the two-time Oscar winner says: "If there's no drama, there's no Adrien Brody!" The problem, as Brody's affable co-star and exasperated director try many times to explain, is that the advertised software takes the drama out of taxes. Brody feeds off pain and toil—TurboTax expert Janet wants to put customers at ease. Brody could get with the programme... or he could stage his own rain-soaked, black-and-white plug for the brand. The latter goes down like a lead balloon, as you might expect, but it's worth it to hear Brody growl: "They say death and taxes are the only guarantee in life—at least death only happens to you once." The actor's done all he can, so he leaves to pursue only the darkest and intense roles imaginable. Viewers are left with an approachable and charismatic solution to their tax obligations.
