The Warehouse Project
"Twenty Years in Manchester"
29 May 2026

Dance through the decades.
The Warehouse Project in Greater Manchester likes to keep people on their feet and on their toes. Since 2006, a series of club nights has taken place in Strangeways Brewery, Store Street, Victoria Warehouse, and Mayfield Depot, but only for a few weeks at a time. It makes each run more special, while the sporadic change of venue makes it feel like the event belongs to a whole region instead of a building. So what about the people who go where the Warehouse Project goes? To mark its twentieth anniversary, Leigh Powis directs a bleary-eyed, strobe-lit homage to those who live for the weekend and the tunes that drown out the weekdays. It's not just the club nights themselves that matter to the cast—it's the positive tension beforehand, followed by the hazy walk home in the early hours. In between, however, is the music. 'Tribute' by Bakey feeds into Powis and director of photography Jake Gabbay's raw, reverent visuals. It's a bit of a blur in the best way possible, as twenty years go by in a flash of sweat, colour, and film grain... though it's bound to make the wait for the 2026 season even harder.
