Radiohead provides the soundtrack to a Respite Association film about Isaac Harvey, a disability advocate who was made an MBE in 2023. Two years later, the man born with limb-pelvis hypoplasia/aplasia (LPHA) syndrome was left homeless due to a lack of support from Redbridge Council. As 'Exit Music (for a Film)' sets the tone, Harvey and director Rob Sanderson bid to make sense of a shambles. Shot in stark monochrome and hopeful colour, the ad stresses Harvey's vulnerability when his mother and primary carer leaves and no one is sent to cover for her. It's uncomfortable to watch as Harvey struggles to crawl on the floor with no arms and short legs—what good is a medal (Jonny Tully at No.8 makes sure it pops in the grade) when the system makes it feel like you've lost? The advertised charity steps in when carers like Harvey's mum take a break. The Isaac who's supported and empowered seems haunted by the one let down by the authorities, medal perched on his chest like a bittersweet memento.
