The Polaroid Foundation

Big camera, big ambition.
This marvellous short film introduces us to The 20x24 Project which is a celebration of a unique large format camera unveiled by Polaroid in 1976, making this year its fiftieth anniversary. At its centre is John Reuter, who operated the camera in its heyday and has been reacquainted with it for the purposes of a documentary... for which this is, presumably, an enticing trailer. Directors Tobias Perse and Alex Marashian have exhibited a light touch in constructing this film from archive footage and their own interactions with Reuter and others. It is very befitting that The Polaroid Foundation have got behind the resurrection of this extraordinary device, and we are eager to see a longer piece about its deployment with Perse and Marashian at the helm.
