Sinister deliveries.
You have to love a commercial where it feels as though each time the client, the agency and the director had the opportunity to play it safe... they went the other way, and this ad for Tesco's Whoosh delivery service is a perfect example. Presenting the supermarket's delivery team as a slightly sinister collection of motorcyclists enables an eye-catching and funny approach. In turn, this angle enables the advert to land its proposition in the best way possible... under the radar. Before you know where you are, you have taken in the core idea – that Tesco can get what you need to you when you need it. Directors Bradley + Pablo have put so much dryness into the script's excellent humour that it is positively arid, and this is what makes the film stand out. A lot of credit is also due to the brilliant VO... apart from an actual credit, of course, because, as usual, we weren't supplied with a name for this vital contributor. As an alternative, we can provide you with the name of the Deputy CSO if you were wondering who that was! No? Okay then, we'll keep that name to ourselves.
