"Need Anything?"

What has Tesco ever done for us?

This is a fantastic way for Tesco to make it clear that they are the vendor of choice if you want just about anything you can think of... especially apples. The pivotal question is 'you need anything from Tesco?' and this triggers a huge array of answers, each of which reveals the breadth of their offer. It is similar in vibe to this excellent 2023 ad for McDonald's but adds a bit more humour into the mix.

New Order's 'Blue Monday' brings a certain something to the party as the chaos unfolds, and it's great that the protagonist seems almost unhappily overwhelmed by the array of requests coming his way. (To be fair, it is annoying when you ask if anything is needed from the supermarket and your other half pulls a bloody great list from their pocket).

These days, Tesco has to push back against an online giant that dwarfs them, something that was unimaginable when they were riding high as the UK's biggest retailer, and this is a smart way to remind punters that they have just about everything you could possible need in their stores.
