Dead set on a new colour.
If you're a member of the Tartan Army, salmon-pink is in this year. If you're the woman in this Taubmans commercial, however, it's an insult to good taste. She's moved into a house whose previous owner thought salmon-pink ticked all the boxes… but what does that matter now she's dead? That's not DAVID being flippant or insensitive, by the way—it's how the brand intends to stand out from the crowd. The narrator calls it as he sees it, and it's bound to take a few viewers by surprise. Brilliantly and warmly matter-of-fact as so many Australian commercials are, it grants new homeowners permission to make changes sooner rather than later. In another humorous touch, the protagonist also seems to have a real beef with a porcelain figure that's been left behind, as if it was responsible for the whole salmon-pink debacle. The statuette sure as hell inspires her to get the job done, and it's a neat way to show how hard the brand's three-in-one paint (primer, sealer, and undercoat) works. One for driven decorators to consider.
