A scientific approach to fussiness.
The claim made by this entertaining ad for Sofology is that their sofas are for discerning people, who are not easily satisfied. They're not explicitly having a pop at rival retailers known by initialisms, but they're not not having a go at them either. There's a knowingness to the misdirection conjured by Greg Bell that has the audience trying to guess what she's really up to... and none will mange it as it's so unexpected. It's a shrewd way for TBWA\MCR to maintain the perception that this is a more upmarket retailer, and one likely to pay off as a new sofa is a significant purchase, and those who make their decision on the basis of price already know where to go. Director Greg Bell delivers with his customary comic flair and the humour helps reinforce the notion. Top work.
