An excellent delivery.

There are lots of delightful touches in this ad for Sky's home protection service which pairs Jamie Redknapp and Jill Scott as a pair of sports pundits turning their attention to a different arena. The duo follow the progress of a delivery driver trying to negotiate a garden path guarded, in the loosest sense, by a French bulldog. Jim Gilchrist skilfully draws super performances from his two leads in a time-honoured pastiche of co-commentary.

The homeowner is contacted via her doorbell and asks for her parcel to be left by the hydrangea, prompting Redknapp to confess that he doesn't even know what a hydrangea is (we can help him with this... the hydrangea was the masked fella who used to ride alongside Tonto in the Wild West).

It's shrewd to join the dots between disparate aspects of Sky's services by using a pair of well-known football pundits who are also regulars on the channel's panel shows as it adds credibility to the Ring doorbell service that has to battle in the marketplace with a service that has swiftly become so dominant that the brand name is used to describe the whole sector.
