Show and motel.
So much of the World Cup preamble was about the price of rooms and whether hotel owners would make a mint or not. At least one place has done well out of the tournament, and that's the Skechers Motel. For the brand's World Cup spot, viewers get a tour of the resort favoured by Harry Kane, Anthony Elanga, Baris Alper Yilmaz, et al. Chuck in cameos from the likes of Jamie Redknapp, Ruud Gullitt, Frank Leboeuf, and the Pointer Brothers (influencers who've been promoted to bellboys) and we're close to maximum occupancy. Come for the cast, we suppose, but stay for the world built by director Elliot Simpson, production designer Delphine Fyrst, and stylist Delilah Bannister. The motel and its many amenities pop with colour from start to finish—sure, it's got a mouse problem, but it's hard to dislike rodents that tune in to watch the football. Nike, Adidas, and Puma may have dominated early rounds with pink boots, but there's still time for brands like Skechers to make an impact with its more hospitable wares. Spots like this do its chances no harm whatsoever.
