Alyse

Multidisciplinary artist Shygirl co-directs the pacy, London-set music video for 'Alyse' with Milk Machine's Oliver Bell and Francesco Loy Bell. The three put lead actor Samson Hughes through the ringer, as his tank top-wearing Romeo is forced to flee a night of passion, lest he get done in good and proper. It's not 100% clear what he's got himself into, but he runs like a man who needs to get the hell out of it.

Scored by Shygirl/Blane Muise's multilayered track which feels like a love song ("You'd know somewhere I need you here/You'd reach me still, however far I am") that has no time to stop, the film nails that look of wired danger common to urban crime thrillers, when a night in the capital becomes a blur of takeaways, dingy corridors, and grievous bodily harm. Hughes's character does end up in a taxi of sorts... but we doubt the driver will ask, "Where to?"
