A ring without ropes

Director George Morris's short film captures a young boxer shadow-boxing in the heart of New York. The city has a rich association with boxing and, despite the large pay-checks, glitz, and glamour associated with professional boxing today, most boxers' beginnings come from a hunger, discipline, and a dedication to the sport.

The film showcases a boxer perfecting his craft against a stark metropolis. There are no airs and graces, giving it a rawness that feels real. The grading by Fraser Twitchett slickly complements Eddie Yasinis's cinematography and adds a great finishing touch to the film.
