Sainsbury's

"Janesbury's"

30 July 2026

30s

It could be you.

Personalisation is the name of the game in this curious but entertaining approach from Sainsbury's which converts to Janesbury's for the purpose of demonstrating its proposition. The fact that Jane herself seems quite resistant to the idea is a sensible counterbalance... after all, we can all worry a little about the intrusiveness that sits alongside this kind of marketing.

Director Guy Manwaring, ably assisted by the clever boffins at Selected Works, assembles an array of comic iterations of Jane's goddess-style takeover of the store which, as mentioned, she declines to endorse. Stephen Fry provides an avuncular voice-over performance that combines wryness with enthusiasm, as standard.
