Orchid Project

"Hidden Voices"

26 February 2026

2 mins 32s

Harm offensive.

If you tend to tune out Transport for London travel announcements, Orchid Project's got a doozy for you: "Female genital mutilation or cutting covers all procedures that involve partial or total removal of the external female genitalia or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons." That'll make you stand/sit up and take notice, eh?

The charity uses the transport network to explore the scourge of FGM/C, with bus, train, and Tube passengers brought up to speed on the issue. To help the message sink in, the likes of social media sex educator Evie Plumb (@cliterallythebest), women's rights campaigner Gina Martin, actor Richard Bobb-Semple, and podcaster Audrey Akande speak up for those at risk.
