"Benjamins"

12 January 2026

30s

Frankl-in the money.

Since 1914, the hundred-dollar bill has featured Benjamin Franklin. That's why you hear Americans talk about Benjamins all the time, and why this New York Lottery commercial goes all in on the Founding Father. When a woman wins big on a 100Xtra scratch-off game, dozens of Benjamin Franklins show up to represent her fortune.

Rather than feel crowded, the protagonist embraces her eighteenth-century entourage. Whether it's a coffee shop, an art gallery, or a gym class, there's room for everyone somehow. Benjamins are meant to be spent, of course, so one's told to clamber into a busker's case to spread the wealth. For once, a political movement that raises a smile, not hell.
