Ben Stiller
Cormac Fallon (also known as Momotuskan) is a real live wire. The Irishman's new track, 'Ben Stiller', is loud, tetchy, and a beacon to folk like Garreth Chan. When the BlankCo director, whose credits include 'Skull of a Sabretooth' for Nuns of the Tundra and 'Lucky Night' for MoniQ, hears a track he likes, he goes on the non-lethal offensive. "I heard Momotuskan's track just out of nowhere and reached out pretty much immediately," Chan says. "The UK functions on labels and commissioners and pitches, but I started doing music videos from just DMing musicians whose work I liked, and scrambling whatever we could to make it happen. It's not always the biggest budgets and the biggest crews, but it really stretches the imagination for what we're able to do, and I'm always blown away." In the case of 'Ben Stiller', there's no sign of the actor, director, and showrunner (a cameo might have blown the budget right away). Instead, we have a rough-and-ready paranoid thriller that centres around Fallon and a travel-beaten suitcase. Chan and DP Constantin Widauer match the song's nervous energy to a lo-fi tee as Fallon makes a run for it.
