The right end of the stick.
After FBI director Kash Patel beat Canada in the men's ice hockey final at the Winter Olympics (he sure as hell celebrated like he did anyway), Canada's Connor McDavid and the USA's Auston Matthews refused to let it get in the way of their friendship. This commercial sees them go on a man date to McDonald's, just in time for the brand's NHL Star Sticks Meal offer. Each meal comes with a toy hockey stick that shrinks McDavid and Matthews to the size of action figures, and that's when the duo let rip at each other. Thanks to director Chris Balmond and the ice-cold VFX team at Freefolk, the tray becomes a supercharged rink that forces the NHL stars to slalom between burgers, fries, drinks, and condiments. Balmond makes a meal of it in the best possible way, like when the puck leaves the rink and spooks diners at the other side of the restaurant. Had it turned into a full-sized puck through a quirk of physics, tiny McDavid and Matthews would be in big trouble.
