Runway

In the 1996 remake of 'The Nutty Professor', Buddy Love (Eddie Murphy) tells Sherman Klump (also Eddie Murphy) that "no matter what, you got to strut". Thirty years later, that same line sets the tone for 'Runway' by Lady Gaga and Doechii. A song written for 'The Devil Wears Prada 2', it sure as hell enters the strutosphere.

On its own, the track is a house-cross-hip-hop treat that has its week all planned out ("Bitch, Monday through Sunday/I can turn a dance floor into a runway"). Such a packed schedule calls for a ton of costume changes, and Parris Goebel’s music video more than delivers on that front. Even Miranda Priestly would have to agree.

Each and every outfit worn by Gaga and Doechii is meant to be stared at, to make you wonder if your wardrobe needs a red suit that can fit two people. As well as strengthen Doechii's own reputation for chic and awe looks , the work also references many of Gaga's past looks, like her mane of yellow hair from the 'Telephone' promo or the red latex dress she met the Queen in.
