"There's No Place Like ITV"

60s

The viewtiful people.
It's good to share, right? DAVID agrees for the most part (he'd rather keep all the biscuits for himself, thank you very much). ITV, meanwhile, is a firm believer in shared entertainment—the kind that's brought people together for aeons. In this 60" commercial, director Felix Brady uses the artistic licence he got at Christmas to cover a few examples. 'Romeo and Juliet', for instance, is now a "hot new drama" with rave reviews from Rotten Turnips and the Bardian. It's one of the loudest interpretations of the play, for sure, and Mercutio's death has to be seen to be believed. This is followed by nods to Beatlemania, the 1998 World Cup, Anne Boleyn's execution, and the world's first shadow puppet show circa the discovery of fire. For present-day ITV, it's all about shows like 'The Masked Singer', 'Britain's Got Talent', 'Code of Silence', and 'Mr Bates vs The Post Office'. In an age where people share too much of themselves, the brand hopes viewers share more time in front of the telly together—if that's not possible, share thoughts about the shows, at least.
