There's a touch of Das Handwerk to the latest Harry's spot… and that works for DAVID. The brand knows not to overpromise and underdeliver: if viewers want a close shave at a reasonable price, Harry's is on it. If they want to become master carpenters, however, they must push themselves to the point that blisters become badges of honour and the soul gets splintered.

Like 'The Cutter' from 2016, 'How to Get Good with Your Hands' takes the master/apprentice meme and runs as fast as it can with it. Not only does the film never trip over itself in the pursuit of laughs (all earned through committed performances and witty production design), but it also circles back to the product in a way that rams home the brand's sense of ease.

The result earns a respectful nod from DAVID... the kind that causes the protagonist to well up in Oscar-worthy fashion. His statue would be carved out of wood, of course.
