Tale of the tape.

Javier Bardem's in a monstrous mood at the moment. Cast as cerebral scumbag Max Cady in Apple TV's 'Cape Fear', the Spaniard also has time to play a malevolent tailor for Greenpeace. Many out there would love to be measured up by Bardem, but the owner of Libel and Gagge should be avoided at all costs. Alas, it's too late for the Greenpeace protester played by Yasmin Finney ('Heartstopper', 'Doctor Who').

To illustrate how the charity's corporate targets use Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs) as a countermeasure, Bardem forces Finney to wear a literal lawsuit. Terms like "harassment", "gag order", and "cease and desist" are stitched into the material, much to the tailor's smug satisfaction and the customer's obvious distress. Think Ken and Kenneth from 'The Fast Show', but more litigious than lecherous.

With a tense, tactile concept at its core, the film urges viewers to consider the tangible impact of SLAPPs. Finney's character may have been stitched up, so to speak, but there is hope of a fightback... plus it's always fun to see Bardem play an adland villain.
