You don’t have to listen to much of the new track 'Storm' by Gener8ion featuring Yung Lean to realise it has all the makings of a huge international hit. A strong melody, a catchy chorus, and powerful lyrics come together to create something that feels destined to soundtrack unforgettable moments, whether that’s felt by a crowd of thousands at a festival or someone alone in their room. Music remains, to this day, a deeply powerful part of people’s core memories, both good and bad.

The influence of the music video, however, has quietly declined since its millennial heyday. Director Romain Gavras reminds us what’s possible when striking visuals meet great music. The result here is both chilling and spectacular.

The opening scenes feature Yung Lean delivering a disturbingly convincing performance as an archetypal school bully, making for genuinely uncomfortable viewing. He terrorises the vulnerable without remorse, as chaos, drug use, and violence dominate this nightmarish school of horrors.

But the real magic begins when a school photograph transitions into a breathtaking dance sequence, choreographed by the immensely talented Damien Jalet. It appears to unfold in a single take, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and storytelling,evoking emotions that are hard to explain and even harder to replicate. It’s a piece of work that everyone involved in it's production should be proud of.
