What dreams may come.
For its 2026 World Cup spot, Fox Sports imagines what would happen if the United States won the whole gosh darn tournament. The broadcaster resists the urge to have USMNT beat Iran in a hypothetical final and plump for an off-brand Brazil instead (we doubt the likes of er, Dado and Ronnho will get big-money moves over the summer). That's not important, however—what matters is that Christian Pulisic, Timothy Weah, Diego Luna, et al. perform a miracle on the biggest stage. Whether Donald Trump stayed awake long enough to witness it is unclear, as directors Lance Acord and Yann Demange are more concerned with how the country reacts to a 3-2 victory at the MetLife Stadium. Shot like the anti-'Civil War', the ad turns the United States into the happiest place on Earth, where all those silly arguments about immigration, abortion, and the economy have been forgotten about. In fact, the worst that happens is Texas runs out of beer before the party's over—how nice would that be, eh? Fox's largesse also results in the one strangest sights of this World Cup advertising onslaught so far: Tom Brady shaving Zlatan Ibrahimovic's head. It's absolutely absurd, but then there's a lot about the tournament that makes naff all sense already!
