We need to talk about Kevin.

Adland keeps a lot of pigeons, from the funky to the ice cream-y. This two-minute spot for CrossCountry features a more traditional pigeon—one that cannot bear to be separated from its adopted human, Ruby. When her and her granddad go to Edinburgh by train, Kevin, for it is he, flies after them. We doubt a conductor would let it board the actual train, after all.

The operator's content to play a supporting role in Jesper Ericstam's commercial. What matters most is that grandfather and grandfather get to explore the Scottish capital and be themselves (they're rather fond of the ol' pigeon walk—maybe there's a Fringe show to be made out of it). Kevin's the expert, however, and the moment he swoops in is sweeter than expected.

We also like to think the seagull is a nod to Ericstam's previous effort for the brand (2024's 'Seaside' ad). If the Swede's in his avian era, more power to him.
