Human after all.
When a pet takes its owner hostage, the police say: "Let your human out." When Crocs wants viewers to be themselves, it also says: "Let your human out." It's a small world after all, right? Forget about interspecies hostage negotiation for now (we know it's hard) and feast your eyes on the footwear company's new commercial that moves in its own way. To the strains of 'I Get Overwhelmed' by Dark Rooms (one for all you David Lowery fans out there), a mannequin comes to life once the store's empty—we're not sure how, but it's not thanks to the spirit of an Ancient Egyptian, we're glad to say. Once the dummy gets his peepers, he sees a world full of possibility and plenty of ground to cover in his foam resin clogs. The more he moves, the more human he becomes, though the choreography never becomes too sleek or up its own backside. The brand thinks imperfections should be welcomed in, not ironed out, which is why the protagonist and his fellow ex-mannequin stroll into a nightclub in shoes that other venues would balk at. Their loss, says the brand.
