Deadpan whirlwinds.

When watching this ad for Clash Royale, it's hard to avoid the conclusion that the advertising for these games is a lot more creative than the games themselves, but perhaps that's DAVID's curmudgeonly prejudices showing! What can't be denied is that this looks like the most fun anyone's had in a quarry since the last of Tor Allen's big parties.

Director Bine Bach marshals her players superbly, drawing wryly comic performances as they go through a series of absurdities related to the advertised game. The beauty of it lies in the way she has coaxed her trio of actors to take the dialogue seriously while simultaneously making it plain that it's all a bit silly, and the rapid escape from the coming whirlwind is a piece of deadpan perfection.
