Chanel
"Coco Mademoiselle"
3 September 2026
2 mins 25s

A night on the town.
Gracie Abrams gives the paparazzi the slip and heads off to a club where all the cool folk are hanging out in this spectacular ad made for Chanel Coco by director Joe Wright. This may only be relatable if you too have been a young star endlessly hounded by the world press, but there’s a charm in the way it's been put together and Wright makes full use of the disco classic that's the real star of the piece. There is, as there often is in perfume ads, a sense of scenes in search of a story, but when the scenes look this good and everyone seems to be having so much fun... who cares? As we mentioned in a review for Calvin Klein earlier this week, fashion brands are always on the lookout for young blood to generate appeal among younger punters, but Chanel has to combine this with an approach that doesn't alienate their older clientele, and this is the perfect answer to that conundrum, combining, as it does, a 26-year-old star, old-fashioned Parisian decadence and a soundtrack that bridges the gap between the two.
