Get out of here!
Only with the wisdom of hindsight can it be said that the fantastic premise of this brilliant ad for BA was blindingly obvious, but that's the beauty of a simple idea... it can feel like it was just sitting there all along, waiting to be noticed. It wasn't, and it took the exceedingly clever people at Uncommon to conceive it, and they handed it to the exceedingly talented director Jeff Low to make it, and the client made the exceedingly sensible decision to get behind it. Some of the films commissioned by BA in recent years have been their entertaining safety videos shown to passengers on long-haul flights ahead of take off. In this ad, Uncommon has subverted some of the familiar phrases from those films and used to present the idea that we are all looking for an escape from our everyday hassle and that that escape can be provided by British Airways. It is all part of Uncommon's repositioning of the airline as a source of inspiration when it comes to our leisure time. This ad, like the brilliant posters of last year, puts the airline front and central in our thoughts as they remind us that it's essential to enjoy the spoils of all our hard work. The opportunity to get away from it all grows ever more important when there is more than ever to get away from, and this ad absolutely nails that idea.
