"Nothing Stops Women's Rugby"

14 April 2026

3 mins 26s

Ready or not, here we come.

As France bid to win their first Women's Six Nations title since 2018, this champion spot for AXA imagines what les hommes thought when they found out women wanted to play rugby. Already salty about having to share football and tennis with the opposite sex, one besuited gatekeeper moans: "Once again, we'll have to defend one of our finest sports from the heresy threatening it."

What will it take to put women off, the patriarchy wonders. A lack of changing rooms? Body shaming? An emphasis on blood? They're full of erm, ideas, enough to make them feel safe in their old-fashioned gentlemen's club. Beyond those walls, however, France's women show what they're made of on and off the pitch in thoroughly modern fashion.

The sound of inevitability, so to speak, is 'Rump' by Pickle—an absolute maul of a dance track that must keep pace with directors Julien & Quentin's visuals. They let the female cast build up a head of steam; when it's time to pay the male cast a visit, it's done with such classical verve, you'll want to see the team blitz backward institutions across the land. Shame they're too busy with the aforementioned Women's Six Nations.
