Colour us impressed.

The splendour of this meditation on colour by Maria Lax and Daniel Eatock for Winsor & Newton owes much to the finely judged intensity of both the colour itself, and the gathering pace as the images keep pace with the voiceover's accelerating delivery. This kind of project is ideal for a brand like this, as there is a strong connection between the film and their commercial proposition but also a strong sense that Winsor & Newton are keen to support the artistry of creators like Lax and Eatock.

The film is also a superb demonstration of Art Practice's commitment to the artists on its roster, when appropriate to the project. There aren't many companies able to bridge the gap between the avant-garde and doubtless there are those who would say there's gap between the two for a reason. But, this lovely film proves that a willingness on the part of a brand to grant artistic freedom combined with a positioning that means its target market will appreciate the outcome can add up to a very successful piece of advertising that doesn't feel like advertising. Win, win.
