"Ode to Water"

1 December 2025

60s

Liquid persuasion.

Mark Bonnar needed a few weeks to decompress after 'The Celebrity Traitors'. The show pushed the Scot to the absolute limit, though at least he wasn't interrogated by Superintendent Ted Hastings for real. Now safe from the round table, the star of 'Guilt' and 'Dept Q' voices an ode to water on behalf of Water Aid, who thinks the clear stuff gets taken for granted.

When you think about it, H2O has one heck of a CV: not only does it help food grow, make snowmen possible, and keep one’s bits and pieces clean, but it’s also useful if you want to stay alive. Suffice it to say, the advertised charity wants as many people to have access to clean water as possible. The alternative is a stream of brown liquid that, after the last forty-odd seconds of colour and zeal, looks beyond grim.
