The elephant of surprise.

DAVID needs to talk about the elephant in the room… or the elephant on the back of the truck, as Virgin Media would have it. Since 2022, agency VCCP has treated us to the Highland Rider, the Goat Glider, and the Walrus Whizzer—now it's the turn of the Trunk Trucker, an elephant that watched someone play 'Grand Theft Auto' and thought, "Me too!"

Brought to life by director Andreas Nilsson and the team at Untold Studios (a real elephant was considered, but it would only drive an automatic), the beast hijacks the truck and causes the driver to bail. We'd love to be a fly on the wall when he tells his employers what happened, but let’s focus on the five-ton perp, eh?

It's a more than capable driver, aided by a dexterous trunk that makes a mockery of 10-and-2 or 9-and-3. As the radio blares out 'Self Control' by Laura Branigan (a song featured in 'Grand Theft Auto: Vice City', as it happens), the brand promises "entertainment like you've never imagined". The more viewers take Virgin Media up on its offer, the more it can splash out on animal antics like this.
