"The Pick-Up"

30s

Catch me if you can.

Andy Murray's biography on Twitter (or whatever the hell you call it) reads: "I played tennis. I now play golf." He also stars in commercials like this one for Uber Eats, a brand that’s become synonymous with the Australian Open in recent years. 2025 ups the ante with a chase sequence that must have been hell on Murray’s right hip.

Uber Eats claims that the three-time Grand Slam winner and two-time Olympic champion can now be ordered and delivered at the touch of a button or the tap of a screen. Two couriers are sent to secure the target—erm, pick up the order—but Murray has other ideas. By the time 30" is up, he's more than earned the title of 'Scottish Gazelle'.

The ad packs a lot into those 30", like when Murray serves a piece of food at the Uber Eats duo. In return, they come out with overcranked dialogue like "Andy, get in the bag!" and "Let's just talk about it!" We like the chef caught in the middle of it all ("Calm down, Andy Murray"), just to remind folk of the brand's raison d'etre.
