Uber Eats

"Goya"

The Antonio Banderas affair.

'The Thomas Crown Affair' meets 'Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie' in the latest Uber Eats spot fronted by a Hollywood actor. Unlike Javier Bardem or Jude Law, Antonio Banderas doesn't want a break from villainy or romance. He does have a gap in his awards shelf to fill, so he orders a Goya from Uber Eats, as you do. He wanted a Spanish Oscar—what he gets is a painting by Francisco Goya

Needless to say, Banderas should not have this particular Goya in his possession ("It belongs in a museum!" as Indiana Jones would say). It gets worse when Banderas spills a glass of red wine on the priceless work of art and tries to mop it up à la Mr Bean. All he can do now is patch it up and sneak it back to where it belongs. As much as we admire Banderas's stab at Romanticism, it's still a bad day at the office for the 'Pain and Glory' actor.

Had he ordered gyozas instead of a Goya in the first place, he would be a free, well-fed man. That would have made for a rather dull ad, however, and you tell both Banderas and director Damian Shatford relished the chance to do a silly crime caper. How much would that bastardized Goya go for at auction, do you reckon?
