The Lott
"The World Needs Wonder"

Catch of the century.
Fiona McGee directs a larger-than-life commercial for The Lott, the "official home of Australia's lotteries". When residents hear that a humongous fish has been spotted in the lake, the whole town of Stillwater goes Captain Ahab, if you will, only much less vengeful. As McGee takes us on a whistle-stop tour of the town, we learn what everyone would do if they landed the legendary beast. One character wants to freeze it for future generations, while another would use it to catch an even bigger one. As rods, nets body boards, and more are produced at will, the owner of the local chippy cuts to the chase: "I'd just batter and fry it." That's the kind of no-nonsense attitude that keeps a business afloat, but the ad is more interested in a sense of wonder. Where would the advertised lottery company be without dreamers, after all? Viewers are therefore encouraged to think big and buy tickets—if they don't, they'll always be, er, fish out of luck.
